Client: Friends of the Kinni
Team Lead: Inter-Fluve Inc.
River Falls, WI | 2016
The Friends of the Kinni solicited help to illustrate their vision for beautifying and revitalizing a free-flowing Kinnickinnic river through the heart of downtown River Falls, WI. LVBrown Studios collaborated with Inter-Fluve Inc. to develop dam removal feasibility plans for the areas surrounding Junction Falls and Powell dam.
The concept designs highlight opportunities for open space recreation and stormwater management in the reclaimed impoundments. Public amenities such as recreational trails, paddling access, scenic overlooks, portaging pathways, and pedestrian river crossings are illustrated along 1.3 miles of restored Class I trout stream.
The study and plans are intended to supplement the City of River Falls’ River Corridor Planning process that is part of the federal hydroelectric power facility’s relicensing.
