Illustrated Watershed Map & Interpretive Signage Design

Oconomowoc Watershed Illustrated Map

Client: City of Oconomowoc and Tall Pines Conservancy | 2024

The City of Oconomowoc’s Watershed Protection Program received several local grants to create a “virtual watershed tour” of the Oconomowoc River watershed. LVB provided interpretive design consultation for the writing and design of a 24”x36” educational sign about ongoing public/private partnerships to protect and enhance the water quality of the river and “Lake Country” lakes.

LVB created an illustrative watershed map using geospatial data to highlight the watershed’s streams, wetlands, regional parks, trails and client projects. The map is intended as an interactive art asset for a virtual watershed tour, and signage will be displayed throughout the watershed at public water access points.

Lauren’s artistic abilities in combination with her graphic design intuition was the most crucial component for our project development. We hired Lauren to create our interpretive signs for our interactive watershed tour, the product she created was beyond what we could have imagined. She became familiar with our region and our project like it was her own. We will be using LVBrown Studio again!
