River Hills Green – Ecological Park Plan
Client: Private residents
River Hills, WI | 2020
A select group of residents in the Village of River Hills, a small community north of Milwaukee, WI, invited LVBrown Studios to help them with a quick turnaround ecological park plan for the Village’s last remaining undeveloped agricultural land. The residents desired to present an alternative to building development for the 55-acre parcel to the Village Board and River Hills Community, which brands itself as a Tree City, Bird City, Monarch City, and Environmentally Aware.
Initial program ideas include:
- Recreational trails
- A pond for wildlife and stormwater treatment
- Restored wetland and upland plant communities
- An off-leash dog park
- Open space areas for family gatherings and small festival programming
- Renovated barn structure for community programming and indoor events
LVB provided sketch diagrams based on the existing site conditions and a high-level site suitability analysis.
